Interesante, the discovery platform helping “Latinos come together, share and discover what’s relevant” has had a lot to celebrate in recent weeks as it makes a big push with its new recommendation engine.

The company has recently increased staff including addition of Dr. Jochen Kumm, a visiting Scholar in High Performance Computing in Genomics at Stanford University, as Chief Scientist to help architect Interesante’s “interest discovery engine” as they make a run to become the go-to social discovery network for the spanish-speaking market.

Claudio Cossio, VP of Marketing at Interesante, also mentioned the site has undergone a complete revamp of the User Interface with major improvements in user experience and navigability, including integration with YouTube API (v3).

As an alternative to other interest-based social platforms like Pinterest, Interesante aims to cater to the spanish-speaking world (top countries including Argentina, United States, Spain, México, Colombia) betting on cultural differences, tastes, and interests that will dictate the type of content users will share and engage with.
